BIO
Born in Morton, a rural mountain town in Washington, I witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by individuals with hearing impairments, including my brother Troy. His experience in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program at North Thurston School District in Lacey inspired my passion for advocacy. My career journey took me from Seattle to Starbucks Corporate Office, where I developed skills in customer service, leadership, and training. Later, I managed two stores in the New York City Metro Market, one of which was among the largest in the company at the time. Following my passion for advocacy, I pivoted to Goodwill, where I co-chaired the Business Advisory Council and collaborated on innovative training programs. Working alongside visionaries in the field, I was deeply involved in strategic initiatives and developed impactful partnerships during my time at Goodwill. This experience broadened my perspective and reinforced my commitment to advocating for access and opportunities for individuals experiencing barriers to employment. Driven by my dedication to this cause, I founded Dara Dotson LLC. Through strategic partnerships, I aim to empower individuals and foster economic growth through the dignity of work.​
